Feet first

The foot’s arch is the body’s spring, and the shoe is its cast. Ten barefoot minutes a day restore the conversation.

Free the feet hourly

Shoes off under the desk, toes spread and gripped, heels lifted and lowered: the foot’s whole vocabulary, used for a minute each hour. The calf and arch, stiffened by the shoe, remember their work quickly.

A tennis ball under the arch, rolled slowly while seated, is a foot massage the desk allows and the afternoon absorbs. Pressure is a question; the fascia answers gradually.

Let the feet see texture

A minute on a pebble mat or a folded towel, standing, gives the sole information the shoe withheld. Balance work arrives free with the texture, and balance is the quiet half of mobility.

Strong feet change the walk, the stance, and eventually the yoga practice. The journal’s chain of command runs upward from the floor, and the floor begins at the foot.
