Stretching honestly

Stretching has opinions attached it never earned: no pain, no bouncing, and no borrowing range you will not keep. Held, breathed, repeated.

Hold, do not bounce

A stretch held at a comfortable edge for six breaths lets the tissue renegotiate; a bounced stretch lets it defend. The difference is felt the next morning and again the next year.

Breathe out into the edge rather than past it. Range arrives on exhales, unannounced, and cannot be forced, only hosted.

Keep what you visit

Range you visit once a month is not range you have; the body keeps what it practises weekly and quietly sells the rest. A short sequence done four times a week outperforms a long one done monthly, as every abandoned January attests.

Write the honest sequence down, three or four shapes, and let it be unimpressive. Impressiveness is a tax on repetition.
