The Friday unwind

The working week’s close deserves its own short practice: longer holds, warmer room, and nothing that resembles achievement.

Lengthen the holds

Friday’s sequence is the weekday one at half speed: the same shapes, twelve breaths instead of six, the room warm, the lamp low. The practice becomes a massage of the week rather than a rehearsal of it.

Add the legs-up-the-wall finish, five unhurried minutes, blanket over the hips. The inversion is where the week’s accumulated seriousness drains into the floor.

Close the week deliberately

After the practice, the notebook line: what the body kept from the week’s snacks, what it wants dropped. The practice is a conversation, and Friday is when the body files its report.

Then the ordinary evening proceeds, into whatever Friday holds. The unwind is not a wall; it is a door, and doors work best when opened on purpose.
